A good designer finds an elegant way to put everything you need on a page. A great designer convinces you half that shit is unnecessary.

My background

After graduating from Portsmouth University with a degree in Interactive Media Design I set up as freelancer offering web design and development, and video production. I regularly filmed and edited music event videos, a highlight was filming Pete Tong behind the scenes at Creamfields in 2008.

I began my professional career as a Web Designer, which involved everything from design to development. I've created animated banners, coded email templates, built WordPress sites, designed logos, filmed and edited promotional videos and lots more. During my time at graze.com I gained a deeper understanding of the UX Design process and the concept of user-centred design. This marked a turning point in my career and the beginning of my journey into UX Design.

I'm a husband and a dad. My main interests include film, music, photography and football. I enjoy filmmaking and have directed three short films and a music video for a local band.

I'm also a Design Mentor at adplist.org, offering guidance to emerging talents in the design field - or just a general chat about design.
